React Email 6.0 ships with a new collection of templates for authentication flows and e-commerce sequences, available as React Email components or Figma files. These serve as starting points that can be customized or have individual sections pulled into custom templates.
Resend (the parent service) provides a REST API and SMTP service that works seamlessly with React Email. Developers can send emails built with React Email components using simple API calls, with SDKs for multiple languages and features like scheduling, batch sending, and attachments.
React Email 6.0 exposes a composable API via EmailNode that allows developers to build custom blocks (image uploads to CDN, social post embeds, inline charts). Each custom node defines both HTML representation and React Email output, enabling unlimited extensibility beyond the core editor.
React Email 6.0 unifies all email components into a single react-email package, letting developers write emails as React components (Button, Container, Html, Heading, Tailwind). This keeps email development in the same codebase and workflow as the rest of the application, with 2M weekly npm downloads proving production readiness.
React Email 6.0 provides an open-source visual editor package (@react-email/editor) that can be embedded with a few lines of code. The editor outputs semantically correct, email-ready HTML compatible with all major inbox providers, allowing developers to give end-users a WYSIWYG email creation experience without leaving their app.
