Overview

What it is

Quetzly helps developers, GIS and IT teams test, monitor, and visualize geospatial APIs. Send http requests, adjust headers and query params, and inspect JSON with an integrated editor. Render WMS, WFS, GeoJSON and ArcGIS services on an interactive map, toggle layers, zoom to extents, and export data as GeoJSON or Shapefile. Track endpoint health to reduce downtime and keep location services reliable. Quetzly is currently in open Beta. Try it for free.

Intent

I need it when

Visualize and inspect geospatial data from WMS, WFS, and ArcGIS services on an interactive map

Quetzly includes an interactive map viewer with layer management, feature inspection, and the ability to export data as GeoJSON or Shapefile, enabling developers and GIS professionals to validate service responses visually.

Get a visual dashboard of all public GIS services and their health status

Quetzly displays a high-level dashboard with instant Pass/Fail counts and status indicators for every service in a directory, plus generates professional PDF health reports to communicate uptime and reliability to stakeholders.

Troubleshoot geospatial API issues quickly without custom scripts or complex tools

Quetzly provides an interactive REST request builder, detailed JSON response inspection, and visual error reporting directly in the browser or desktop app, eliminating the need for Python scripts, ArcGIS Pro, or DevTools for debugging WMS, WFS, and ArcGIS services.

Validate and monitor geospatial API endpoints over time with configurable intervals

Quetzly's Monitor section enables continuous endpoint health checks with configurable intervals, service-level assertion checks (reachability, layer validation, export capabilities), and status tracking with detailed tooltips showing passed and failed checks.

Catch ArcGIS service failures before end users are impacted

Quetzly scans services in the background and surfaces critical errors in the browser, enabling GIS teams to identify broken services, unreachable endpoints, and layer failures instantly without waiting for user complaints or manual testing.

Drop

Not a fit when

  • User needs to monitor non-geospatial APIs or services outside WMS, WFS, ArcGIS, and standard REST endpoints
  • User requires enterprise-grade SLA monitoring with guaranteed uptime guarantees and commercial support contracts
  • User needs real-time alerting via email, SMS, or Slack integration for service failures
  • User operates on non-Windows, non-macOS, non-Linux systems or requires mobile app access
  • User needs historical data retention and long-term trend analysis beyond what the browser-local data storage provides
