Overview

What it is

We’re building an AI wellness app that transforms doomscrolling into intentional self-care. Nomie is for people who feel overwhelmed, stressed, or mentally drained by constant screen time. Instead of asking users to disconnect, it redirects scrolling habits into guided resets, breathing exercises, journaling, and emotional support. We solve the problem of compulsive digital consumption by turning screen time into a tool for calm, focus, and regulation.

Intent

I need it when

Break compulsive doomscrolling habit and replace it with calming screen time

Nomie's bloomscrolling feed preserves the scroll mechanic users crave but substitutes anxiety-inducing content with calming prompts, breathing exercises, and glimmers. This addresses the root habit loop rather than forcing phone abstinence, making it actionable for users stuck in compulsive scrolling patterns.

Find daily emotional support and nervous system regulation between therapy sessions

Nomie's AI companion remembers context across sessions and connects users to somatic tools (breathing, grounding, journaling) for consistent daily practice. This bridges gaps between therapy appointments and provides accessible, judgment-free co-regulation without replacing clinical care.

Regulate nervous system and manage ADHD-related overstimulation without meditation

Nomie offers digital fidgets for stimming, haptic breathing, and interactive grounding tools that engage the body directly. Unlike meditation apps requiring stillness, Nomie's tactile, motion-based tools are designed for neurodivergent users who benefit from sensory input and movement.

Calm acute anxiety or panic in under 60 seconds using body-based techniques

Nomie provides somatic breathing with haptic feedback, digital fidgets, grounding exercises, and a panic attack guide designed for in-the-moment use. The body-first approach (bottom-up regulation via vagus nerve activation) works faster than cognitive techniques when the nervous system is already activated.

Recover from burnout by rebuilding nervous system capacity through small daily practices

Nomie's free tier offers unlimited access to breathing, grounding, and body-scan tools, plus daily bloomscroll interactions and journaling prompts. The low-friction, body-based approach helps exhausted nervous systems rebuild safety signals without requiring willpower or complex cognitive work.
