Nomie

AI wellness app that turns doomscrolling into self‑care

Overview

What it is

We’re building an AI wellness app that transforms doomscrolling into intentional self-care. Nomie is for people who feel overwhelmed, stressed, or mentally drained by constant screen time. Instead of asking users to disconnect, it redirects scrolling habits into guided resets, breathing exercises, journaling, and emotional support. We solve the problem of compulsive digital consumption by turning screen time into a tool for calm, focus, and regulation.

Intent

I need it when

Build a daily self-care habit that feels supportive rather than like homework

Nomie combines an AI companion with memory, daily quests, mood tracking, and interactive environments that make self-care feel like exploration rather than obligation. The warm design and gamified elements help users return consistently without the clinical or prescriptive feel of traditional wellness apps.

Calm anxiety and regulate nervous system in acute moments without sitting for meditation

Nomie uses bottom-up somatic tools (haptic breathing, digital fidgets, grounding exercises) that work in 60 seconds or less. When anxiety hits and sitting still feels impossible, users can open Nomie and use body-based techniques to shift their physiological state faster than audio-guided meditation, making it practical for mid-spiral moments.

Stop compulsive doomscrolling and replace it with calming phone interactions

Nomie's bloomscrolling feed preserves the scroll mechanic but replaces anxiety-inducing content with calming prompts, breathing exercises, fidgets, and glimmers. This lets users satisfy the scroll habit while shifting their nervous system from stress to calm, addressing the core doomscroll loop without requiring willpower to put the phone down.

Access nervous system regulation tools between therapy sessions

Nomie provides science-backed somatic techniques (polyvagal theory, breathing, grounding) that therapists recommend for between-session support. The panic attack guide, body scan, and AI co-regulation help users practice nervous system skills daily, extending therapeutic work without replacing professional care.

Find sensory regulation and stimming tools for ADHD or neurodivergent nervous system needs

Nomie includes digital fidgets, haptic feedback, and tactile interactions designed for stimming and sensory regulation. These tools help ADHD and autistic users self-regulate through interactive, hands-on engagement rather than sitting passively, addressing understimulation and restlessness.

Drop

Not a fit when

  • User primarily wants sleep stories or soundscapes (Calm/Headspace are better for this)
  • User needs structured CBT cognitive exercises in text format (Wysa is better suited)
  • User requires Android app (Nomie is iOS-only; Android coming soon)
  • User wants open-ended AI roleplay or general conversation (Replika is better for this)
  • User is in acute crisis requiring clinical therapy (Nomie is a wellness companion, not a therapist)
  • User prefers top-down meditation instruction over body-first somatic tools
