Masko Code

Masko Code

A mascot that watches Claude Code for you

Overview

What it is

You run Claude Code agents. You alt-tab 50 times a day to approve permissions. You lose your place. You miss prompts. Masko Code puts a mascot on your desktop that watches your agents in real time. Permission needed? Speech bubble. Press ⌘1. Done. Also: ⌘M jumps to the right terminal. Double-tap ⌘ to switch sessions. Tracks everything at a glance. Ships with Clippy and other mascots. Community adds new ones daily. Or generate your own at masko.ai. Free. Open source. MIT. 100% local.

Intent

I need it when

Customize the monitoring experience with a personalized animated mascot

Masko Code includes 6 built-in mascots with unique animations for idle, working, and attention states. Users can also create custom mascots on masko.ai and load them into the desktop app, making the monitoring experience visually engaging and on-brand.

Monitor Claude Code sessions without switching windows or breaking flow

Masko Code provides a floating macOS overlay that displays real-time session status, tool usage, and permission requests. Users stay in their terminal or editor while the animated mascot shows what Claude is doing (idle, working, or waiting), eliminating context switching and keeping developers in flow state.

Track multiple concurrent Claude Code sessions and switch between them efficiently

The session switcher (⌘⌘) and dashboard show all running, idle, and finished sessions with color-coded activity feeds, subagent tracking, and event history. Users can double-tap ⌘ to cycle between sessions and ⌘↵ to focus the correct terminal tab instantly.

Get instant notifications when Claude Code needs attention or crashes

Masko Code sends native macOS notifications with priority levels and resolution tracking. Users are alerted immediately when Claude needs input, detects crashes, or completes tasks, with the ability to jump directly to the relevant terminal tab via ⌘M.

Approve Claude Code permissions and answer questions instantly from the overlay

Instead of switching to the terminal to type 'yes' or provide input, users can approve permissions with keyboard shortcuts (⌘1-9) or answer questions via speech bubbles in the overlay. This reduces friction and keeps hands on the keyboard.

Drop

Not a fit when

  • User is on Windows or Linux—Masko Code is macOS-only (14.0+, Apple Silicon & Intel)
  • User does not use Claude Code or vibe coding workflows—the app is specifically designed to monitor Claude Code sessions
  • User requires real-time code inspection—Masko receives only event metadata and tool names, never reads actual code
  • User needs cross-platform terminal support beyond iTerm2, Terminal.app, VS Code, Ghostty—limited to these terminals
  • User prefers minimal UI overhead—the overlay adds a persistent visual layer that cannot be fully hidden during active sessions
