Knock

Knock on your MacBook to control your Mac

Website tryknock.app
Overview

What it is

Knock turns taps on your MacBook into instant actions. Switch tabs, change desktops, play/pause music, open apps, run custom scripts, or take screenshots - all with a simple knock. Tap the desk beside your laptop or knock on the MacBook’s chassis (not the trackpad). Knock uses the built-in accelerometer in Apple Silicon MacBooks to trigger customizable shortcuts.

Intent

I need it when

Control Mac from iPhone remotely

Knock supports tapping on iPhone to trigger Mac shortcuts, enabling remote control and interaction with the Mac from a mobile device

Improve accessibility and reduce physical strain from input devices

Tap-based control offers an alternative input method that may reduce repetitive strain injuries and provide accessibility benefits for users with limited keyboard or mouse mobility

Reduce reliance on keyboard and mouse for Mac control

Knock enables users to control their Mac through taps on trackpad, MacBook surface, or iPhone, replacing traditional input methods with gesture-based shortcuts for faster, more ergonomic interaction

Create custom shortcuts and automate repetitive Mac tasks

Knock converts tap gestures into customizable shortcuts, allowing users to automate workflows and access frequently used functions without navigating menus or typing commands
