InkStory lets users link audio—a loved one's voice, a song, or a recording—to their tattoo. When scanned with the app, the tattoo plays back the audio, creating a permanent, personal memory tied to the ink that lasts as long as the tattoo does.
InkStory's designer tool converts audio files into three tattoo-ready visual designs based on the sound's waveform. Users can preview what their tattoo might look like before taking the design to an artist, reducing design uncertainty.
InkStory works with any existing tattoo—no special ink or technique required. Users photograph their tattoo in the app, link it to audio, and later point their camera at the tattoo to play the sound back. Works offline with data stored locally on the device.
InkStory provides a directory of 1,331 verified tattoo studios across 55 countries. Users can filter by country, city, and tattoo style (soundwave, realism, fine line, etc.), with each artist profile linked to verified Instagram portfolios and contact details.
InkStory stores all photos and audio locally on the user's device, not on external servers. This ensures privacy, offline functionality, and guarantees the app continues working even if the company closes, making it safe for permanent personal memories.
